Description:
- Size: Yucca species vary greatly in size. Some, like the Yucca filamentosa (Adam’s Needle), reach only 1-2 meters (3-6 feet) tall, while others, like the Yucca elephantipes (Spineless Yucca), can grow up to 10 meters (33 feet) tall.
- Trunk: Yuccas can have a single trunk, sometimes branching at the top in some species.
- Leaves: The leaves are the most palm-like feature.
Uses:
- Ornamental: Primarily valued for their architectural form and evergreen foliage.
- Fiber: Historically, the fibrous leaves of some Yucca species were used by indigenous cultures for making rope, sandals, and other woven items.
