Description:
This is a green sedge with tall, erect stems, typically reaching heights of 10–90 cm (3.9–35.4 in) It can be found in many areas of the world including the USA (New Jersey, Oregon, Washington, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, California) and South America (Surinam, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay).
Uses:
- Ornamental: Used as an ornamental plant for patios and containers in some areas.
- Food: The tubers are edible and can be eaten raw or steamed.
