Description:
Size: One of the largest bamboos, reaching maturity at 20-30 meters (66-98 feet) tall with culm (stem) diameters of 4-10 cm (1.6-4 inches).
Leaves: Lance-shaped with a rough margin, around 30 cm (12 inches) long and 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide. Young leaves emerge bright yellow, turning green and then brown with age.
Culms (Stems): Woody and erect, growing in clumps. The culms are initially green with a waxy coating, maturing to a yellow or lemon-yellow color with green stripes. They have a thick, strong wall.
Uses:
- Construction: A versatile and sustainable construction material for houses, bridges, scaffolding, and furniture.
